This course will provide an opportunity
for frontline staff to explore and develop current thinking and practice in the
field of smoking cessation. It forms part of a strategic approach to smoking
cessation training designed to inform and support work with clients.
The aim of the course is to enable
participants to raise the issue of smoking with clients and refer on to smoking
cessation services as appropriate.
Course
Objectives
By the end of the course
participants will have:
- Increased knowledge and
understanding of smoking issues
- Learned about the health
effects and other consequences of tobacco smoking
- Explored factors that affect
behaviour change
- Understand how to encourage
and facilitate behaviour change
The training will be facilitated by Kay
Samson Tobacco Issues Co-ordinator Health Promotion Fife
This course is part of an ongoing
programme of training in smoking cessation.
